A live map of the real city
We want the app to feel like a signal layer for what is actually happening around you, not a stale directory that only updates when a promoter remembers.
The story behind it
The city never lacked energy. Discovery was the broken part.
Every weekend, hundreds of parties, rooftop sessions, pool hangouts, art nights, and underground events happen across Lagos. Most of them live and die in someone's story, a flyer in a group chat, or a friend who remembered too late.
Grooovy is our answer to that gap. One place to discover what is happening near you, understand the vibe fast, see where your people are going, and move from interest to RSVP without friction.
We are building for how Nigerian Gen Z actually plans nights out: fast, mobile, socially, and with a sharp sense of local culture. Not a generic event catalogue. A better way to find the scene.
What we are building
The work is bigger than listings. We are designing a product layer for discovery, coordination, and momentum, so a night out can move from rumor to real plan in a few taps.
We want the app to feel like a signal layer for what is actually happening around you, not a stale directory that only updates when a promoter remembers.
See where your people are heading, share plans fast, and reduce the endless back-and-forth that usually happens before anyone leaves the house.
Hosts should be able to publish a vibe, manage RSVPs or tickets, and build momentum without using five separate tools or sounding like an ad.
Dead simple
It's Wednesday. You open Grooovy. A rooftop session in Lekki. An amapiano night in Surulere. A free art party in Yaba. Filter by tonight, this weekend, or free-only. Tonight is sorted.
Found something? See if your friends are already going. Tag them, split the ticket cost, or just fire them the link. No more "let me know if you’re going" threads that go nowhere.
Your QR code is in the app. Walk in, scan, done. Then go live, share moments, and make the night something you'll actually remember, not just a screenshot in someone's story.
Start by exploring what is already happening. When you want to save plans, tune your vibe, and unlock workspace features, use the guided dashboard entry flow.
Product entry
Public exploration stays open. Account creation starts only when someone wants their own dashboard, city setup, and vibe onboarding.
